How to explain the innovation we will be making for sportland to your grandmother (as simply as possible)

  • With adding treadmills to shops, customers can try out shoes to get a better feeling. With that we can eliminate a possibility that a customer will need to return a product afterwards, because of unexpected problems.
  • Our second idea is adding screens to stores, where customers can learn about how to properly care for their shoes in order to make them last longer.

We believe that both of our ideas could have a good impact because they make customer experience more interesting and make the company stand out from the competition. Although an initial investment is needed for the equipment, we believe that they will pay off their cost with a rise in customers and decrease in returns. 

2) The company could have issues with the initial investment needed to buy the screens and treadmills. There also could be a problem with the upkeep of the equipment. But because we have come up with these ideas from the perspective of a customer, we believe that the company will like our ideas.

Treadmills: 

Customers – they will like this idea because it gives them the opportunity to test out the shoes they’re about to buy better.

Employees – they can have a problem with the idea because they would need to keep an extra eye on the equipment to make sure they don’t come to any harm or that customers won’t hurt themselves on treadmills. 

Owners – they can have a problem with the initial investment needed. Also, people can hurt themselves by accident or deliberately which can bring in extra problems or bad press. 

Society – The idea will be well received in society because it reduces consumption and returns. 


Screens:

Customers - they will like the idea because they can see how to properly take care of their shoes which will increase their lifetime, saving customers money. 

Employees – they will like the idea of screens because these make their jobs easier in the way that they won’t have to tell customers about the upkeep of shoes. 

Owners - they can have a problem with the initial investment and upkeep of the screens. 

Society – This idea will also get positive feedback because it increases the lifetime of bought goods, which means that consumption decreases. Also thanks to the lifetime increase of shoes we can see a reduction of waste generation.
